Children usually make their First Confession and First Communion in second grade. All students (public, private, parochial and homeschoolers) will attend weekly classes on Tuesday evenings in the fall to prepare for First Confession and during Lent to prepare for First Holy Communion. The tentative schedule is linked below.

Registration will open in July and close in mid-August. You will need to upload a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate to complete the registration process. You may get this by calling the church where your child was baptized.

The cost to enroll in First Communion preparation is $45. You may pay by Venmo (@stleolafayette) or online by using the button below.

If you are a registered parishioner at another parish, Canon Law requires that you you receive written permission from your pastor to receive First Communion outside of your parish. If you need help with this, please call our office.
