Formation in the faith is a vital part of our parish life. As baptized Christians, it is our moral obligation to become disciples - life-long learners - of Jesus.

Vacation Bible School

Each year during the second full week of June, children from our local community (those entering Kindergarten through 5th grade) enjoy Vacation Bible School, a fun-filled week focused on learning about God’s love through Jesus Christ. The week includes song, crafts, creative snacks, and activities and games. We are always in need of middle/high school helpers and adult volunteers.

Children’s Mission (Advent & Lent)

During the seasons of Advent and Lent, while adults listen to an engaging speaker in Church, children enjoy a mission just for them in our parish hall. Think of it like a mini Vacation Bible School. We provide a kid-friendly meal, as well as time for stories, song, crafts, and activities. Children (potty-trained to 5th grade) are welcome to attend.

CCD/Religious Education

St. Leo’s offers three classes of religious education for children: grades 3-5, grades 6-8, and grades 9-10. These classes meet on Tuesdays at 6:00pm at Sts. Leo-Seton School, eight sessions in the fall and eight in the spring. Participation in a 10th grade CCD program is required in order to participate in St. Leo’s 11th grade confirmation class. Those in Catholic schools are not required to attend, and parents have the option to homeschool. Registration occurs each August. Students may join the class at any time.

Middle School Youth Group

Children in grades 5-8 meet once a month on Sunday evenings at 5pm for EDGE: St. Leo’s Middle School Youth Group. In our parish hall, students enjoy music, games, engaging presentations of the faith, small groups, and prayer. For more information about our Middle School Youth Group, click here.

Adult Ed

Three times a year, our parish offers adults an opportunity to study the Christian faith. These classes are held on weeknights and consist of video presentations on the faith followed by small groups and prayer. Past classes have entered more deeply into prayer, the Gospel of John, the sacraments, and Christian virtue.

Women’s Day of Reflection

In early spring, women from our community gather for a day of reflection in our parish hall. This day includes Mass, prayer, engaging talks, small groups, and an opportunity for adoration and confession. Past speakers include Ms. Emily Byers (“Sisters in Community”) and Sr. Mary Magdalen (“The Beauty and Dignity of Women”).

Mission (Advent & Lent)

During Advent and Lent, our parish hosts a speaker on some aspect of our life as Christians. Speakers have included Fr. Clinton Sensat (“Lent and St. Leo”) and Fr. Kyle White (“Living Jesus with St. Peter”). These missions take place in our parish Church for one or two weeknights. Need a place for the kids? They can enjoy our children’s mission next door.
